As part of their 2026 NYCxDesign exhibition, Rarify worked with ULTRA-LIGHT RESEARCH to design a bespoke rug as part of their partnership with the India-based handmade wool rug manufacturer Nomadory. The rug graphic is a plan oblique projection of ULTRA-LIGHT RESEARCH’s modular lightweight grid structure used in various pieces. The projection is 2x scale of the physical module, implementing both visual and dimensional relationships. Both tufted and flat-woven versions were produced as a way to demonstrate the significance of the manufacturing process as it relates to the three dimensionality of the flay rug graphic.
